Privacy Policy
Last updated July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ConsultingPrep (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use consultingprep.ai and our related services (the “Service”). We built ConsultingPrep to help you practice case interviews, and we take the privacy of your practice sessions seriously.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1.Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password (passwords are stored securely and in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see them in plain text).
- Profile details. Optional information you provide, such as your target firm, background, and target interview date, used to tailor your experience.
- Interview session data. Audio from your microphone during a live interview, real-time transcripts of the conversation, your performance scores across our evaluation dimensions, timing and speaking statistics, and any notes photos you choose to upload after a session.
- Content you submit. Casebooks you upload, feedback you leave, and feature requests you send (including any text you dictate).
- Payment information. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number; we retain only limited billing metadata (such as your plan, status, and customer identifier).
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as your browser type, general activity within the app, and cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to power features like referrals.
2.How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including running live voice interviews and generating your performance debriefs;
- Score your interviews and produce feedback and analytics;
- Process subscriptions, payments, referrals, and related transactions;
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests;
- Monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3.Voice and AI processing
Our interviews use real-time voice AI. When you take an interview, audio from your microphone is streamed to our voice-AI provider (Google) to power the live conversation, and the conversation is transcribed so we can score it and show you a transcript. Your responses and transcripts are also processed by a large-language-model provider (Anthropic) to generate scoring and feedback.
These providers act as our processors and handle your data under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not use your interview recordings to identify you to third parties, and we do not sell your personal information.
6.Data retention
We retain your account and interview data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations, or to resolve disputes.
7.Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK (under the GDPR) and California (under the CCPA/CPRA) have specific rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@consultingprep.ai. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8.Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.
9.International data transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
10.Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12.Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, email us at support@consultingprep.ai.
